"I wanted to write a song about the loss of faith. I think a lot of people naturally want to believe in something bigger than themselves, especially when confronted with some of the horrors of reality like death and loss. But I think once you really think about it, blindly accepting something on faith is just a horrible philosophy. And I think a lot of people have that moment when they stop believing in the bullshit we were taught in CCD or church or whatever. I think once you stop believing that greatness is waiting for us in death, you’re free to achieve it here and now." - Mike Rendini
